Award-Winning Guitarist Dave Cipriani has been on a constant quest to connect with deep spiritual/music roots while still being in the modern world, a desire that springs from 30 years of studying Buddhist meditation, and trying to understand how it relates to creativity. He performs on 7-string guitar and Indian Slide Guitar, and studied with Charlie Byrd, Ustad Aashish Khan, sitar master Jai Kishor, and with late Indian Slide guitar pioneer Pandit Barun Kumar Pal over 3 trips to India. He received his MFA in Indian Music from California Institute of the Arts, where he also studied rhythm concepts with Randy Gloss and Pdt. Swapan Chaudhuri and Balkan music with Miroslav Tadic.
