Getting Started

Meditation is a practice based on the radical idea that the natural state of the mind is not scattered, nervous, and confused, but rather calm, creative, and clear. Practicing regularly provides a way to settle into this natural state more often. At Sky Lake, we begin by training in shamatha or mindfulness meditation. This foundational technique allows you to tune into the present moment, at home, at work, or wherever you go in your day to day life.

We welcome anyone new to meditation to check out these ongoing introductory classes & programs.

You can drop-in to our community meditation practice; dates and times listed below. Instruction is offered if you are new to meditation.

Dear Friends,

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the weekly meditation practices (except for Sunday sitting)  and monthly open house Dharma talks have been suspended.  We cheerfully plan to resume the below programs when the situation proves safe to do so.

Thank you, so much, for you continued support.
