The Trekchö Instructions of Yeshe Tsögyal: A Vajrayana Retreat

With Acharya Richard John

January 18 - 21, 2019

Pre-requisite: This retreat is for Shambhala tantrikas, who have attended SWA or Vajrayana Seminary.

In the 8th century, Yeshe Tsögyal had a vision in which Vajrayogini gave her pith instructions for practicing trekchö, which is known as “cutting through to primordial purity.” Trekchö is the dzokchen equivalent of mahamudra, and both are the epitome of the path of wisdom. These teachings were lost until they were re-discovered as terma by Chokgyur Lingpa in the 19th centery. This profound but accessible text gives concise instructions for recognizing and resting in the empty and luminous nature of mind.

The retreat will be silent during the day, with physical exercises and time for conversation in the evenings. On Sunday Jan 20 we will celebrate a Werma Feast, open to everyone who attends the retreat. Other Shambhala tantrikas who have received the Werma Sadhana are very welcome to attend the feast as well.

Heart Gifts

It is customary to offer a monetary Heart Gift to the teacher. Acharyas receive no salary or benefits, and depend upon this income in order to teach for a living. The gift is completely voluntary according to your inspiration, and there is no suggested amount.
